The OH SO elegant LITTLE bLACK dRESS

Hombakazi Vintage Cabin

I absolutely love everything about LBD's in fact my favourite colour is black. Im going to an evening function tomorrow so I've been trying to think out of the box and not always go for the Little Black Dress I normally opt to wear. However, the LBD will always stay classic and every woman's bestfriend.

LBD's can be paired with either gold or silver jewellery. For the very sophisticated look then you will never go wrong with pearls. As for shoes, any colour goes with black so the brighter the better so that it brings your stunning dress.

It's in your JEANS!

Hombakazi Vintage Cabin

Jeans were originally made to be woren with a t-shirt. Things have changed, however, that sentiment has stayed the same.Printed tee's can pop up an outfit especially if you pair the tee with plain coloured jeans. I doubt that anyone can go wrong with jeans a tee im patiently waiting to see if I'll ever come across such an atrocity.

My favourite look is the one shown above. It's casual but yet trendy. Wen we talk about jeans we are not limited to pants only, anything made out of jean material is good enough. she paired her jean shorts with 'never-ever-out-of-fashion' all stars. Besides tees matching with everything All stars have been known for adding a spark in an outfit.

Trend update

My last blog entry was about lace and how much I adore it. A day after making that entry I received an invitation to attend SABC 3's private cocktail party at Hemmingways. I had to take my own advice and put together an outfit for the night. It wasn't difficult because my dear lace dress was ready to be woren.I thought I looked good and ofcourse, I felt great.Black lace can do wonders to your body shape. Here's what I wore last weekend....
Black lace peplum dress paired with a gold chain neckpiece and a pair of nude heels.
Now moving totally away from myself....

I love african prints and when I saw this picture I just fell in love with it over and over again.I've been searching around East london for something like this for a while but realised that authentic african prints are very costly. You buy around 6 metres of cloth which will cost you about R600 then you have to get a designer to design what you want.So in actual fact, you might spend aroung R1500 or R2000 for just a skirt or dress. I dont really resent the price because I support african 'labour' and designs so it makes me proud to say I bought something local. Here's the skirt I've been blabbing about...

Im always falling head over heels with alot of trends but I normally go goo-goo-ga-ga to trends that will bring out my femininity or rather feminist side. This dress is sophisticated and absolutely gorgeous. It's the type of thing I'd wear. I'd rock this dress at garden wedding or some afternoon high tea event.

For the LOVE of LACE

DARE TO LACE IT !

Lace is sensual, glamourous and adds a bit of mistery to your outfit. I swear, I have never seen anyone go wrong with lace.Black lace is good for the night paired with gold or silver jewellery or if you prefer a much sophisticated look pair it with a set of pearl earings and a neckpiece. For the day, cream coloured lace or any bright colour will most definitely give you that edge in your outfit. These days lace is not reserved for lingerie only. We've come out of our shelves in this century where we challenge fashion "rules and regulations" and creat a stir with trends.

Lace is not limited to the "girly-girl" type of people but even those who have that rough edge to them can rock lace. However, having said that, I just think it would totally look weirdish to be entirely "laced up" in LACE. The material can be mixed with almost any type of material.Silk, cotton, wool, tweed, it blends well with all rags.

I love lace and it makes me feel absolutely gorgeous that's why I call myself a self-proclaimed lace addict.
